New Payment Options in Zenler: Apple Pay/Google Pay/Klarna/iDEAL/Sepa Debit/Bancontact/Afterpay/Clearpay

How to enable the New Stripe Payment (Beta) checkout block


Zenler now supports additional payment options, giving site owners more flexibility in how they accept payments from students and customers. These options allow you to offer more payment choices at checkout, depending on what is available and enabled for your site.

This document provides a brief overview of where additional payment options are available in Zenler and how to enable them on checkout pages.

Additional payment options are available through the New Stripe Payment (Beta) block. The options shown at checkout may vary based on the customer’s location, currency, and payment eligibility.

Requirements: 

Register the subdomain in Stripe Dashboard:

  • Go to Settings > Payment method domains 
  • Add the specific subdomain (e.g., example.newzenler.com)

For Google Pay to be appear in the checkout page:

  • Customer's browser and saved cards - Google Pay only appears when the customer has a card saved in their Google account/wallet. 
  • Browser requirements - Google Pay requires Chrome (desktop/Android), Safari on iOS/macOS, or other Chromium-based browsers. 
  • The customer must also be signed into their Google account in that browser. The user is not browsing in incognito/private mode 
  • Register the subdomain in Stripe Dashboard:
    Go to Settings > Payment method domains
    Add the specific subdomain (e.g., example.newzenler.com) 
  • Business verification - Some accounts require business verification to be completed before Google Pay activatesList item two

For Klarna to be appear in the checkout page:

  • Business verification - Your account must be fully activated and verified 
  • Customer eligibility - Klarna runs instant credit checks and only displays to customers who meet their criteria (this happens silently in the background)

Apple Pay displays only when:

  1. The user is on a compatible Apple Pay device (iPhone, iPad, Mac with Touch ID or Face ID)
  2. The user has at least one card added to their Apple Wallet
  3. The user is using a supported browser (Safari, or Chrome/Edge on Mac with biometric authentication enabled)
  4. The user has allowed websites to check for Apple Pay (Safari: Settings > Advanced > Allow websites to check for Apple Pay and Apple Card)
  5. The user is not browsing in incognito/private mode
  6. Register the subdomain in Stripe Dashboard:

    > Go to Settings > Payment method domains
    >  Add the specific subdomain (e.g., example.newzenler.com)

How the New Stripe Payment Feature Works

When the New Stripe Payment feature is enabled for your Zenler site, the new payment block will automatically be added to all supported checkout pages, including:
  • Courses
  • Bundle
  • 1:1 Bookings 
  • Live Classes 
  • Live Interactive Webinars
No additional setup is required on the checkout pages. 

 The payment methods displayed to each customer may vary depending on their location, currency, device, browser, Stripe configuration, and payment eligibility.

FAQ

Do I need to register my checkout subdomain in Stripe?

 Yes. The specific subdomain used for your checkout page must be registered in your Stripe Dashboard.  

Go to:  Stripe Dashboard → Settings → Payment method domains  

Then add the relevant subdomain, for example:  example.newzenler.com

Why is Google Pay not appearing on the checkout page?

Google Pay will only appear when all required conditions are met:

  • The customer has a valid card saved in their Google account or Google Wallet. 
  • The customer is signed in to their Google account in the browser. 
  • The customer is using a supported browser, such as Chrome on desktop or Android, Safari on iOS or macOS, or another Chromium-based browser. 
  • The customer is not using incognito or private browsing mode. 
  • The checkout subdomain has been registered under Payment method domains in Stripe. Any required Stripe business verification has been completed.

Is Stripe business verification required for Google Pay?

Some Stripe accounts may need to complete business verification before Google Pay becomes available.  You can review the verification status from your Stripe Dashboard.

Why is Klarna not appearing on the checkout page?

Klarna will only appear when the following conditions are met:

  • Your Stripe account is fully activated and verified. 
  • Klarna is available for your business country, customer location and transaction currency. 
  • The customer meets Klarna’s eligibility requirements.
  •  The payment amount falls within Klarna’s supported limits. 
  • Klarna has been enabled in your Stripe payment-method settings.


Does Klarna appear for every customer?

No. Klarna automatically assesses the customer’s eligibility during checkout. It will only appear when the customer and transaction meet Klarna’s requirements.
